Michael Loveday lives on the border of Hertfordshire and London. He writes poetry, short stories, and reviews and his writing has been published in a number of UK magazines, such as Ambit, Flash: The International Short-Short Story Magazine, Iota, The North, The Rialto and Stand.

In 2011 he completed a Masters in Writing (Poetry specialism) at Kingston University, having previously also studied Creative Writing at Newcastle University. His HappenStance pamphlet He Said/She Said (2011) is a sequence of poems about a faltering relationship between two people of different nationalities.

From 2004-2012 he was editor-publisher of 14 magazine, an illustrated magazine publishing poems of fourteen lines, alongside essays and interviews, which ran for fourteen issues. He now teaches creative writing to adults at The Institute adult education college, in North London, and for Open Age, a London-based charity for the over-50s.

He is also a writing facilitator for the charity DRUM based in Watford, working as a scribe for clients with disabilities.
