Kind eyes.Kate Hendry is a writer, teacher and editor. She was reader in residence at the National Library of Scotland in 2013-14 and currently runs the ‘Nothing But the Poem’ reading groups at the Scottish Poetry Library.

Her poetry has been published in many magazines and anthologies, including AgendaThe NorthNorthwords Now and The Rialto. Her short fiction has also been widely published and can be found in New Writing ScotlandMslexia and the Bridport Anthology 2009. In 2008 she received a Scottish Arts Council New Writer’s Bursary.

She has published articles and resources on prison education, in The ReaderScottish Justice Matters and RaPAL. She founded and edited STIR, the national creative arts magazine for prisons and The Poem Goes to Prison anthology for the Scottish Poetry Library. She is currently editing the second edition of Tools of the Trade, also for the Scottish Poetry Library.

Her debut pamphlet was published by HappenStance in 2016.
