David Hale was born in Ayrshire, has lived in Oxfordshire, Greece, London and Bristol, and is now settled in an English hamlet in the southern Cotswolds. He started writing poetry fifteen years ago when he moved to the country after a long spell of living in cities. He spent his early years knocking around in Chiltern beech woods with his dog, something that’s key to his poetic inspiration now.
David works in a local college for young adults with learning difficulties, and is a member of the Bath-based poetry group, The Sub-versifiers. The Last Walking Stick Factory is his first poetry collection.
