Michael Munro was born in Glasgow in 1954. He has been writing poems for over thirty years but the HappenStance chapbook Poems for Alice was his first collection. He makes a living as a freelance lexicographer and has published various books about aspects of language, from The Patter (a lexicon of Glasgow dialect; 1985) to Clichés and How to Avoid Them (Chambers, 2005). His favourite poets are Keats and Apollinaire.
