Maria Taylor was born in Nottinghamshire, raised in London and now lives in Leicestershire. She is Greek Cypriot in origin.
Her debut collection Melanchrini was published by Nine Arches Press in 2012 and shortlisted the following year for the Michael Murphy Memorial Prize.
Her poems appear widely. She's Reviews Editor for Under the Radar magazine and has reviewed for several publications, including The TLS. She also assists in organising poetry readings at the popular Shindig event in Leicester.
She works at De Montfort University as a part-time Creative Writing Tutor and teaches at local workshops.
