Hilary Menos deserves the description ‘award-winning poet’. Her debut pamphlet, Extra Maths (2004), was a winner of The Poetry Business Book & Pamphlet Competition. Wheelbarrow Farm, her second pamphlet publication, was one of four winning submissions in the 2010 Templar Awards.

She has published two book-length collections with Seren, namely Berg (2009) and Red Devon (2013). Berg was awarded the prestigious Forward Best First Collection Prize.

A third pamphlet, Human Tissue (2020), was again a Poetry Business Competition winner. Hilary likes pamphlets: Fear of Forks from HappenStance in 2022 is her fourth.

She was born in Luton, read PPE at Oxford, took an MA in poetry at Manchester Met, and has worked as a student organiser, journalist, food and arts reviewer, organic farmer, dramaturge and builder’s mate. She now lives in France with her husband and the youngest of her four sons. She’s editor of The Friday Poem.
