Matthew StewartMatthew Stewart was born in Farnham, Surrey, in 1973. Following a comprehensive school education, he took a degree in modern languages at St Peter's College, Oxford.

For the last seventeen years, he has lived in Extremadura, Spain, where he works as the export manager and blender for a local winery, VinaOliva. His poems have been widely published in UK magazines and he blogs at http://roguestrands.blogspot.com.

His most recent HappenStance publication, Tasting Notes, was launched in London at the Poetry Book Fair (see photo below). It was a unique launch, in that the poetry (about wine) was delivered as the punters tasted the wine itself. Even now, you can order both together - there's a link from the shop page to Bat & Bottle, which will send you the wine at discount.

There is also a flim of Matthew reading Tasting Notes, some of it set among the vineyards. Not to be missed!
